Meta to pay dividends - but today is the last day to invest for the first payment!

Name of opportunity: 👀

Meta Platforms Inc

Time’s up! Why should I invest in META today?: ⏲️

If you don’t do it today, you will miss out on their first ever dividend payment on March 26! At the start of this month, META announced they would begin paying quarterly dividends at US$0.50 per share.

February 21 is META’s ex-dividend date, but investors who bite from tomorrow onwards will be too late to reap the rewards. This is because it often takes two days after you invest to show up on the list of shareholders, and the US markets will be closed on Monday February 19, so there will be no time after the weekend.

How hot is this investment opportunity? 🔥🔥🔥🔥

You can see that over last month, its value has increased by a gigantic 31.73%, as investors rush to buy META stock.

That spike in the middle of the chart represents 1 February, when the announcement was made.

Dividends unlocked: 🔓

Of course, this now means that anyone with shares in META will receive dividend payments every quarter (unless the company announces otherwise) - but there is another reason analysts are saying this makes investing in the company make a lot of sense.

As Mark Zuckerberg himself owns 250 million shares in META, some analysts say this means, more than ever, the founder’s interests and shareholders’ interests will be in sync. Does this mean the company will look to increase the dividends they offer over time?

Which neme?: 🔍
