Diluted earnings per share (EPS) also improved - Q2 2024’s EPS figure was US$3.50 compared to US$3.00 for Q2 2023. This was better than Wall Street had estimated.

How hot is this investment opportunity? 🔥🔥🔥

Analysts predict the price of Mastercard Inc. will increase from $465.08 to $500.94 in the next 12 months. If you invested $1000, you might profit $80.28.

Mastercard’s strong second quarter performance will have encouraged analysts, and much of the chat about the company and its stock in the news is around how good those earnings are. The American company performed well in some international markets, particularly in Europe and Latin America.

In a statement from Sachin Mehra, Mastercard’s Chief Financial Officer, he said in the future Mastercard saw lots of opportunities ahead to reach markets where people mostly use cash. Mehra mentioned Africa and may have been alluding to MasterCard’s recent project, Mobilizing Access to the Digital Economy (MADE) Alliance: Africa, which aims to improve digital access in remote communities.

Mastercard is currently rated by analysts as a ‘Buy’ - but as you can see, it’s much closer to ‘Strong Buy’ than it is to ‘Hold’.
